The earliest section of the Garrett-Booth-Cheney house dates back to 1721, when the 13 colonies were still being established and before the Revolutionary War. In 1810, a two-story addition was added, shortly after the US Capital was moved from Philadelphia to Washington, DC. An ardent student of history, the current owner added another addition in 1985 in a style that maintains its historic character. A 1683 William Penn style Robert Southery Log Cabin was saved, relocated to and restored on the property. The early 19th Century English bank barn was rebuilt after portions collapsed in Hurricane Hazel and a new, yet architecturally compatible, 4 car garage was built in 1990. It has a center hall and hearth fireplace, with sunroom off the back (which was the original front). The upstairs is small bedroom and bath.
